O POD Hotel/ TLV

Location: TLV Land Structure: 1300 Sq.m

Design: 2022 Progrma: capsule hotel

The first unique classic capsule hotel of its kind in Israel, with a unique panoramic view of the sea, located in Tel Aviv and designed in 2022. The hotel caters to end users looking for a unique accommodation experience and on a cheap accommodation budget, but unlike a hostel and shared dorms rooms, you can get complete privacy in private bedrooms. Although the hotel is defined as accommodation on a relatively cheap budget compared to existing options, it is designed at the level of a luxury boutique hotel in the location of the most prestigious hotels in Tel Aviv. Capsules of different sizes were designed at the hotel: reclining capsules, standing capsules, double and single capsules, to capsules with private balconies facing the sea. Each wing has shared toilets and showers and locker rooms for users. The capsules were designed by our offices down to the smallest details and unique to this hotel, and were built using the PRE-FAB method from abroad. The capsules came in pieces and were built as Lego on site, according to the planning in detail under the direction of the architect, and are unique only to this hotel. They come in several shapes and sizes. Each capsule has a control panel, so that the user can charge their mobile device, connect to headphones and TV, as well as control ventilation and lighting. All the capsules have windows that you can look through, usually also towards the sea, storage cabinets, and curtains when privacy is wanted.

  • The idea is to grant full independence when the client performs Self check-in, receives a card with which he can enter the booth he ordered and open his personal locker.
  • The hotel emphasizes the use of extensive public areas. In our opinion, most of the end users of this hotel are a young population, looking for added value from simple accommodation, but also interaction with strangers, the hotel guests. Therefore, we have increased the public areas and added various options for seating areas, both in the interior space and on the outdoor balconies and corners where it is also possible to work with a computer, facing the sea.
  • The connection between the hotel and the sea that can be seen from almost any point in the hotel was the launching point that was reflected in the design of the hotel. The hotel overlooks the west coast of Tel Aviv, which is considered one of the best surfing spots in the city. As soon as you enter the lobby, a hovering film of a Tel Aviv surfing session is projected on the floor from the beach in front of the hotel. Above us, hangs a wooden kayak chassis. After checking in at the reception, we continue towards the main seating space and pass through a passage that is all in CNC grooved wood cladding, inspired by the walls of the limestone cliffs along the beaches, as we step on a pebble floor. A display case 5 meters high from the floor to the ceiling is displayed in front of us, showing a panoramic view of the entire stretch of the beach from north to Jaffa, when nothing separates us from the beach except the promenade. The carefully selected materials are organic and natural: cold concrete with the warmth of natural wood, straw furniture, a huge green wall and a colorful and warm branding designed by Liri Argov that transmits mostly FAN.
  • Surfboards on the walls, wooden oars, a picture shaft with the contents of the sea, Tel Aviv, beaches, surfing, an open view of the sea, and spectacular sunsets, all of which put us in the atmosphere of the sea and the smell of sunscreen when we enter the hotel.
