On the magical island of Corfu in Greece, 4 vacation homes were designed on a 2600 square meter plot with challenging topography on the mountainside, in a construction configuration called “Cave house”. This form of construction allows for assimilation into the area according to the original topography of the mountain, thus minimizing environmental damage. In Greece, this form of construction receives double building rights compared to a structure built above ground. Another advantage is the use of the roofs of the buildings as part of the open plot and also does not harm the view of the building at the higher level. The complex has 4 private houses that are used by their owners as vacation apartments and were designed flexibly so that each of the houses can be divided into separate accommodation units if there are additional guests or if they are rented out as vacation units. Each of the rooms in the complex has a direct view of the sea and complete privacy. The rooms look out onto an open terrace with a pool that is the center of activity for vacationers in the house.
